What Happens on the Day
Most people arrive a little unsure of what to expect. That's completely normal — and it usually takes about five minutes for that to change.
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is calm and unhurried.
There are no group sittings, no waiting around, no one rushing you through. It's a private appointment, just you and David — and the first thing he'll do is have a proper chat about what you need the images for, which looks you want to project, and anything you're not sure about.
Then you'll move into the studio. David works with a combination of natural-style and directional lighting depending on your features, and he'll guide you through every pose — where to put your hands, how to hold your shoulders, what to do with your chin (yes, everyone asks about that). Most people find that within ten minutes they've stopped thinking about the camera entirely.
The session continues until David is confident he has something genuinely great — not just technically correct, but the kind of image where you see it and think yes, that's me. At the end of your session you'll sit down together, review your shots on screen and choose the ones you want to keep. You only pay for what you love.
Images are delivered web-ready, optimised for LinkedIn, your website, press releases and social media. Higher packages include matching black-and-white versions and a print-ready file.

We know how much is riding on a great headshot. Whether it's a LinkedIn refresh, a new website, a press release or the first image a prospective client is going to see — it matters. And it needs to look exceptional.
Over the years we've photographed actors and authors, MPs and managing directors, sole traders and senior partners. Where is the studio?
We’re at 39 Emerald Road on the Luton and Dunstable border — easy to find, out of town, with free on-site parking. You’ll receive full directions with your booking confirmation.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, by appointment only. That means your session always gets our full, undivided attention. Call 01582 491 499 to book.
Do you have parking available?
Yes, free on-site parking is available. We are in a residential area so we ask that you park close to our driveway and keep neighbours' driveways clear. Full details are provided with your booking confirmation.
What is best to wear?
Smart professional clothing that reflects your industry and makes you feel confident is usually the best starting point. We’ll send you a style guide in advance, and you’re very welcome to bring a couple of outfit options on the day. If in doubt, just ask — we’re happy to advise.
How many images do you take?
As many as it takes to get something genuinely great. You then choose your favourites at the end of the session during the ordering appointment, so you only ever pay for the images you actually want.
How much do professional headshots cost?
Packages start from £99 for a 30-minute session including two digital files, up to £279 for a one-hour session with ten web-ready images plus a print-ready version. All packages include expert guidance on posing, lighting and presentation.
How long does a headshot session take?
Option 1 is a 30-minute session. Options 2 and 3 are one-hour sessions. Either way, the image review and selection happens at the end of your appointment, so everything is contained within a single visit.
Can you photograph my whole team?
Yes — team headshot sessions are something we do regularly, both here at the studio and on location at your premises for larger groups. Call us on 01582 491 499 or email info@oakleystudios.co.uk to talk through the details.
Will my headshots work on LinkedIn and my website?
Absolutely. All digital files are delivered web-ready and optimised for LinkedIn, business websites, social media profiles, press releases and marketing materials. Option 3 also includes a print-ready file for high-quality printed applications.
I'm nervous about being photographed — is that normal?
Completely normal, and you would not be the first to feel that way. David will put you at ease from the moment you arrive. The studio is calm and relaxed, and you’ll be guided through every step so you always look your best. Most people are surprised at how quickly they settle in — and even more surprised at the results.
This is a superb professional photo service. Their friendliness makes you relax before the photoshoot. The shoot was great and the photographer will make you look as good as possible.
After the session, you get to go through all of your shots and choose the best shots to take away.
