We are celebrating 35 incredible years as a family portrait studio on the Luton and Dunstable border — and what a journey it has been. From newborn portraits and children's photography to multi-generational family sessions and maternity art, we have spent over three decades capturing the moments that matter most for families across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. 2025 also marks David and Sue's own 35th wedding anniversary, and we want to celebrate by giving back — raising funds for Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Charity throughout 2025 and 2026.

WE LOVE OUR WORK
Over the last 35 years, we have taken a lot of photos at our studio which is now located on the Luton & Dunstable border and every session still brings us genuine joy.
We have had the privilege of photographing thousands of family celebrations across Luton, Dunstable and Bedfordshire: anniversaries, milestone birthdays, multi-generational gatherings, newborns becoming toddlers becoming teenagers — and some of our very first clients now bringing their own children and grandchildren to us. It is an honour we never take for granted.
As well as our family portrait photography sessions, we also offer magical themed experiences including our Original Fairy Experience and fun Christmas photoshoots.
Our purpose-built garden portrait studio gives us both beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for your family photography session — calm, private and easy to find on the Luton and Dunstable border, with free parking on site.
INDOOR & OUTDOOR STUDIOS

We have a modern purpose built garden studio on the Luton & Dunstable border allowing us the freedom to offer different backgrounds to suit both casual and formal photoshoots.
Outdoors ? We love using our special “outdoor studio”, and have developed several places in our garden for this. Children in particular love the freedom outdoors love being able to let off steam. Our new children's hedgehog seats are a definite hit.
There is always a "Plan B" if the weather is not playing ball on the day .

Children grow up faster than we’d like to believe. From the whirlwind energy of toddlers discovering the world around them, to pre-teens finding their own style, to teenagers stepping out in their prom wear — every stage deserves to be remembered.
At Oakley Studios, on the Luton and Dunstable border, we’ve been photographing children of all ages for over 35 years.
Our relaxed, unhurried sessions are designed to bring out real personalities, not forced smiles. Whether your child is bouncing off the walls or camera-shy, we know how to create an atmosphere where they feel comfortable and have fun.
Our purpose-built studio offers both indoor and outdoor settings, so whatever the mood or the weather, we have the perfect backdrop.
We encourage children to bring a change of clothes — different outfits open up a whole range of looks and give you more to choose from.
For pre-teens, we love it when they choose their own outfit. It’s a small act of independence that often leads to the most authentic, character-filled portraits.
For older teens, a prom shoot is a wonderful way to mark a milestone — dressed up, confident, and ready to celebrate.

Where is the studio?
Our portrait studio is based on the Luton and Dunstable border in Bedfordshire — out of town, easy to find and with free parking on site. Full directions are provided when you book your appointment.
What are your opening hours?
Our Luton portrait studio is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, by appointment only. Hours can occasionally vary depending on the nature of the photoshoot, so we will always confirm your exact appointment details when you book.
Do you have parking available?
Free parking is available on site at our Luton studio. We are in a residential area, so we ask that you park considerately near our drive and keep neighbouring driveways clear.
Full parking details are sent out ahead of your appointment.
If anyone in your group has mobility requirements, please let us know when you book and we will make sure everything is arranged for a comfortable visit.
What is best to wear?
What you wear for your portrait session depends on the style of shoot, but as a general guide we recommend smart casual outfits that are colour co-ordinated across the group.
With 35 years of portrait photography experience, we are always happy to give you personalised advice — just ask when you book.

How many people can we have in the photoshoot?
Our portrait studio specialises in multi-generational family photography.
The record at our Luton studio is 26 people in a single session.
For larger groups we can also use our outdoor studio garden area, weather permitting. We recommend having a chat with us when you book so we can plan the best setup for your family.
How many images do you take?
Enough to make sure we get everything you need — and then some.
The number of images taken during your portrait session depends on the size of your group and the combinations you would like.
If there is a particular portrait you have in mind, just let us know before the shoot and we will make sure it is on our list.
How do I book?
To book your portrait session at our Luton studio, simply give us a call on 01582 491499 and we can talk through what you would like. You can either book and pay for your chosen collection upfront, or secure your appointment with a refundable £35 deposit — whichever suits you best.
What does it cost ?
All family portrait, children's and newborn photography sessions at our Luton studio are secured with a fully refundable £35 deposit.
We have portrait collections to suit every budget — from three beautiful large printed portraits to our 'Love It! Love It! Love It!' collection for when you simply cannot choose between them.
Digital image options are also available.
